Financial Advice Isa
ISA’S advice help…?

My husband and myself were advise by our building society two years ago to take out ISA’s for our retirement, we were assured that the now happening credit crunch was not going to happen??? and were advised to take out ISA’s were the money we pay in every month is invested into shares so will eventually make us a profit that we can use when we retire, we are making nothing and are really stuggling to keep paying into the ISA every month and feel we were wrongly advised. What should we do, can you freeze an ISA till this financial disaster is over???

Well you have to establish whether it was the correct advice at the time for your financial profiles. This does not include whether the value went up or down rather if the advice given was appropriate for your financial circumstances.
Other than that I presume you could stop the ISA payments or even sell the investments and close the ISA down. This would depend on the plan (you would have to ask the BS) Don’t forget, also the ISA value will be included in any IHT liability. Email me and I will have a look and give you advice. http://www.shareworld.co.uk for contact details
